Silence, then cries of joy. The atmosphere was heated in the Parisian bars this Tuesday, on the occasion of the first match of the French team at the World Cup in Qatar. After a first Australian goal, the Blues were able to regain control of the match, and finally impose themselves largely, to the delight of their supporters.

One, two, three and four goals! For their first match of the World Cup against Australia, the Blues entered through the front door of the event. In Paris, in the halls of the bars, the supporters vibrated with the men of Didier Deschamps, despite a difficult start to the match. “We scared ourselves with a first goal that we took with the exit of Lucas Hernandez”, explains Baptiste at the microphone of Europe 1.

The final in sight

The Blues supporter did not leave his seat for the match and only caught his breath at the first goal for France, signed Adrien Rabiot: “We scored four goals in the end, including two from Giroud. is rather a good start to the competition”, he reassures himself. A little further on, Sam is one of the few Australian supporters present in the room. With his stuffed Koala aimed at the head and his beer, he believes that Australia “did well. It was not so easy against the French and yet we made it difficult for them, we scored a goal. That’s all that matters against France,” he explained.

And in the bar, some French people are already dreaming: “The round of 16, the quarter, the semi-finals and the Final. In 2018, we did it so why not again this year”, exults Thomas. But before lifting the Cup again, the Blues will already have to face Denmark this Saturday.
