F1: Verstappen fastest in tests in Bahrain, Sainz third

The two-time Formula 1 world champion, Max Verstappen, at the wheel of Red Bull, finished the first day of testing in the lead, which kicked off the 2023 single-seater racing season. The Dutchman, with a time of 1’32″837 and 157 laps completed, preceded the expert Asturian Fernando Alonso, at 0″029 (60 laps), and the Spanish from Ferrari, Carlos Sainz, at 0″416 ( 72 laps). Fourth time for the Monegasque, also on a Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, at 0″430 (64 laps), fifth for the British Lando Norris on McLaren, at 0″625 (40 laps). Tomorrow the second day of practice in Bahrain.
