Ukrainian fencers, as well as technical specialists, will not participate in tournaments where athletes from Russia and Belarus are going to compete. Thus, our representatives in this sport reacted to the decision of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) to return the aggressor countries to their tournaments.
This is stated in the statement of the official website of the Fencing Federation of Ukraine (FFU). The organization noted that they would involve athletes from other countries in the boycott of Russians and Belarusians.

“Today, March 20, an urgent meeting of the FFU Presidium was held online. It was decided not only not to fight at competitions of any level with directly Russian and Belarusian athletes, but also for our athletes, coaches, judges not to participate in competitions, in which Russian or Belarusian athletes will participate with the active involvement of athletes from other countries.

Earlier, Germany refused to host the Fencing World Cup stage through Russia. It was joined by Finland, whose federation announced the cancellation of the tournament with the participation of athletes from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the FIE banned Ukrainian symbols at the Grand Prix in South Korea, forbidding support for our country. First Vice-President of the Russian Fencing Federation (FFR) Oleg Lavrichev once again visited the occupied territory of Ukraine, and also posed with the symbol of aggression “Z” together with the military from the Russian Federation.
