The Beijing 2022 Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova, who previously let slip why the Russians steal washing machines from Ukrainians, expressed dissatisfaction with the criteria for admitting Russian athletes to international competitions. The 22-year-old sportswoman, who enthusiastically supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine, broke down in love and devotion to dictator Vladimir Putin.
She stated this in an interview with the Match TV propaganda channel, commenting on the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to allow athletes who support the war to compete. Stepanova noted that she was proud of this fact, and also called the IOC conditions stupid.
“The conditions of the IOC are humiliating and stupid. Complete exclusion in team events. What is the point? But most of all, it is surprising that some commissions at the level of sports federations should make decisions regarding each athlete. This will not work in practice. Who will take over responsibility to determine, or can it be allowed and according to what criteria? They are blurred. Suspended for supporting the president of the country? But I am proud of it. IOC officials have driven themselves into a dead end, from which they still have many years to get out, “said the skier.
Note that at a meeting with Putin in April last year, Stepanova said that “Russia has again become strong, proud, successful.”
Recall that the IOC recommended that international federations remove Russian athletes from team tournaments.
