NHL club goaltender “Florida Panthers” and the Russian national hockey team Sergei Bobrovsky did not answer the question about the full-scale invasion of the Russians in Ukraine during a press conference on the final matches of the Stanley Cup. The only Russian goalkeeper who twice received the prize for the best goaltender of the NHL regular season – “Vezina Trophy” (2013, 2017) changed the subject, as soon as he heard the name of our country.
“Now we’re focused on hockey. And it’s not about politics or what’s going on at your job. You know, it’s a big hockey celebration – the Stanley Cup Finals. I’ve never been here before and I want to use this opportunity to enjoy moment,” Sportsnet quotes the 34-year-old Bobrovsky.
As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, a few years ago, Bobrovsky, being one of the best goalkeepers of the current NHL season, refused to play for the Russian national team at the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championship.
The goalkeeper of “Columbus” explained his decision by the “complex factor”, noting that the coaching staff of the “tricolor” expressed satisfaction with this development of events.
