The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will not organize additional qualifying competitions for the 2024 Games in Paris for Russian athletes. Representatives of the aggressor country complain a lot that due to the conditions of admission to tournaments they missed many qualifying starts, but the IOC is not going to change the approved calendar.
This was announced by the IOC at the request of the Match TV propaganda channel. The committee noted that they would not force international federations to hold competitions retroactively so that athletes from Russia and Belarus could compete for tickets to the Olympics.
“Some qualifying competitions in a number of sports have already taken place. The IOC will not ask IFs to retroactively adapt their qualification systems to allocate additional quotas to athletes with a Russian or Belarusian passport who miss the opportunity to qualify. We have nothing to add to this statement,” the statement said. IOC.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, called “unacceptable and illegitimate” the criteria for admitting athletes from the aggressor country to international competitions.
