“Everything is invented, instructions are given”: the champion of the Olympic Games in the Russian Federation accused the IOC of “execution of Russians”

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) Mikhail Mamiashvili was outraged by the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) not to hold additional qualifying tournaments for the 2024 Games for representatives of the Russian Federation. The OI-88 champion expressed confidence that in this way they are trying to allow as few of his compatriots as possible to compete.

Mamiashvili stated this in a comment to the Match TV propaganda channel. He called the conditions for the admission of Russians to international competitions, according to which, in particular, athletes should not support the war in Ukraine, a requirement to “renounce their parents.”

“This is more about those federations in which the selections are taking place or have already passed. Unfortunately, we have what we have. In wrestling, we have a slightly different situation, in September the World Championship will be held in Serbia, where it will be possible to obtain licenses for admission to the Olympic Games. “Of course, all these instructions are given to the federations from above. They ask them to almost renounce their parents. The problem is that nothing of the kind is written in any charter, in the IOC charter. Everything was invented for the execution of the Russians,” Mamiashvili said.

Recall that the IOC recommended that the federations remove from the competition Russian athletes related to the Russian army and law enforcement agencies, as well as from team sports.

As GLOBAL HAPPENINGS reported, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, called the criteria for admitting athletes from the aggressor country to international competitions “unacceptable and illegitimate”.
