(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 10 – First great success for the Pavia-Venice 2022 International Motorboat Raid, which after more than 6 months from its execution has already reached the maximum number of participants, closing registrations in just 60 hours for the exhaustion of the 133 available places. An event that has never happened in the almost secular history of the longest (413 km) and oldest raid in the world, which saw its first edition in 1929.

The 70th edition of the Pavia-Venice Raid will be held on 5 June 2022 under the aegis of the Fim (Italian Motorboat Federation) and due to its history it will be the final event of the 2022 Venice Boat Show. the rosiest expectations, as confirmed by the organizers Giampaolo Montavoci (president of the Venice Motorboat Association) and Angelo Poma of the Pavia Motorboat Association.

Precisely because of the extraordinary participation, the international appeal of the raid is confirmed again this year, with registrations already received from 13 different countries (with still 50 motorcycles and boats in the waiting list): Italy, England (with 9 crews), France (7 crews), Belgium, Holland, Spain, Malta, Switzerland, Austria, USA, Dominican Republic, Sweden and United Arab Emirates.

Among the participants stands out the name of the 10 times world champion in powerboating Guido Cappellini, who will try to win the only race that is missing from his palmares. Also competing in Abu Dhabi Emirati Rashed Al-Qemzi, reigning Formula 2 world champion, Drew Langdon, former ski champion Kristian Ghedina (paired with Giampaolo Montavoci), President of Assonautica Venezia Marino Masiero, Tullio Abbate Jr and many other champions.
