(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 15 – Today, 23 young athletes, winners of the particular selection procedure obtained thanks to the results achieved nationally and internationally in their respective disciplines, join the Sports Groups of the Fiamme Gialle.
Among them stand out the names of Zane Weir (athletics), fifth classified in the shot put at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and Chiara Benini Floriani (sailing), silver medalist in the ILCA 6 class at the Junior World Championships; the athletes from the Youth Sections Fiamme Gialle Matteo Sartori (rowing), son of art, silver medal in the quadruple scull at the U23 World Championships and Angelo Ulisse (athletics), bronze medal in the 4×100 at the U20 European Championships. The newly enrolled athletes were welcomed in the Fiamme Gialle by the Commander of the Sports Center, Gen.B. Flavio Aniello who underlined: “being a Military Sports Group of recognized excellence means knowing how to constantly invest in the future through suitable generational changes. Also for the 2021 enrollment, the selection certainly lived up to expectations, with young champions already established in international level and others who have all the credentials to strengthen their position. We are proud of it! Here they are: Athletics: Rachele Mori (hammer throw), Angelo Ulisse (100 m), Federico Riva (1500 m), Simone Biasutti (triple jump), Zane Weir (shot put); Judo: Kenia Perna (-52 kg), Leonardo Valeriani (-66 kg), Alessandro Magnani (-73 kg); Karate: Matteo Fiore (-75 kg) and Sonia Ferrarini (-61 kg) Swimming: Chiara Tartantino (freestyle) and Helena Biasibetti (butterfly); Fencing: Giuseppe Franzoni (foil) and Margherita Lorenzi (foil); Target shooting: Massimo Spinella (pistol); Canoe: Boscolo Meneguolo Luca (kayak); Rowing: Matteo Sartori (senior tip); Sailing: Chiara Benini Floriani (ILCA 6); Winter sports: Gianlorenzo Di Paolo (alpine skiing), Max Perathoner (alpine skiing), Alessia Guerinoni (alpine skiing), Veronica Silvestri (cross country skiing), Jeffrey Rosanelli (ice skating).
