(ANSA) – FOLIGNO, NOV 22 – Everything is ready for the evening event on Friday, November 26, at the Foligno Auditorium, which will host the ‘Gran Gala dello Sport’ with the presence of sports champions in various disciplines, many of the as protagonists at the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, who will take the stage of the prestigious structure to receive an award.
Each champion who will present himself on the stage will donate his own sports heirloom that will end up in an online auction whose proceeds will go to a project for the schools of Foligno dedicated to bullying and youth discomfort.
Organizing the event by the Ancri di Foligno / Valle Umbra, whose president Gianluca Insinga presented the event in a press conference in the presence of the municipal administration and the associations and bodies that have granted patronage to the event. Insinga underlined that “with this event the Association intends to pay homage to Italian sport in all its forms, in such an extraordinary moment that Italian athletes of various disciplines have established themselves on the world scene and obtain medals and prestigious titles”. Among those who will sponsor the evening are the Municipality of Foligno, the Coni, the Italian Paralympic Committee (Cip), the ConfCommercio and the National Observatory on bullying and youth distress.
Among the awarded champions there will be the blues of skeet shooting Diana Bacosi, Emanuele Fuso, Lorenzo Franquillo and Fiammetta Rossi, the former Azzurri coach and then president of the federboxe Franco Falcinelli, the Beijing 2008 Olympian Roberto Cammarelle and the bronze medal from Tokyo 2020 Irma Testa. And then for the triathlon Beatrice Mallozzi and Alessio Crociani, for the cycling Claudio Chiappucci and Roberta Amadeo, for the equestrian disciplines Luca Innocenzi and Sara Morganti, for the volleyball Damiano Pippi, Giulia Aringhieri and Alessandra Favoriti and for the rowing Agostino Abbagnale, Vladi Carlo Panato and Cecilia Panato. The presence of former Taekwondo champion Luca Massaccesi, now president of the national observatory on bullying and youth distress, is also announced. (HANDLE).
