(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 21 – Italy has obtained the organization of the volleyball European Championships of 2023, both men and women, for which it had applied. This was announced by the president of Fipav Giuseppe Manfredi during the press conference at the end of the year.
The men’s European Championship will be played entirely in Italy, and the host cities will be five. while the women’s one, in four cities, foresees the holding in Italy of the inaugural match, a preliminary round, the round of 16 and the quarter-finals, while the semifinals and finals will be played in another country.
Among the other topics discussed today, there was also the project “Motherhood belongs to everyone”, a provision that will start in January and will have an initial amount of 50 thousand euros. “This fund – it was explained – will have the purpose of ensuring continuity of remuneration for the athlete during the period of pregnancy and in the period immediately following the birth of the children”.
