(ANSA) – ROME, DEC 27 – Obereggen, the national capital of snowboarding. This was announced by the “Red Bull Hammers with Homies” which will arrive in the South Tyrolean town, the heart of the Ski Center Latemar ski area, 20 minutes from Bolzano.
The dates of the prestigious snowboarding event scheduled in the Obereggen Snowpark, one of the most adrenaline-pumping structures in Italy, have been unveiled. It will be held on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March 2022, the only Italian qualifying stage for the world finals of the Red Bull Hammers with Homies, scheduled for April 17 in Madonna di Campiglio. It will be a high-level competition, in jargon a team battle, dedicated to snowboarders who make creativity, style and competition their lifestyle. During the competition, open to all, teams of 3 snowboarders will face each other with the formula of direct elimination in an electrifying Jam Session. The crews will be able to express their skills: team play, creativity, style and execution, will be the parameters that will be evaluated. The jury will select the best teams that will face each other in a knockout in the final phase (pre-registration: info@moonsrl.it).
Registration is free with the essential requirement of being over 16 years of age, with lots of gifts for all participants and prizes for the two finalist teams. The winning team will participate in the world finals of the Red Bull Hammers with Homies scheduled for April 17 in Madonna di Campiglio. Not just snowboarding in Obereggen, the cradle of international ski competitions for decades. On the Maierl slope, in mid-December, the European Cup slalom took place, the oldest of the White Circus, at the 38th edition and organized by the committee chaired by Eduard Pichler and made up of ASE Catinaccio, SC Ega, Obereggen ski school and lifts company Obereggen Latemar SpA. Seven days later, Wednesday 22 December, the World Cup slalom took place in Madonna di Campiglio. Tradition has been respected: given the quality of the Maierl, those who did well in Obereggen repeated themselves on the 3Tre as the third equal merit of Obereggen, the French Muffat-Jeandet and the Bulgarian Popov.
