(ANSA) – ROME, 01 FEB – Fifa has started constructive talks with associations of agents from all over the world.

The meeting took place in Montevideo. Several proposals submitted by agents to be included in the new regulatory framework. The FIFA regulations for players’ agents will come into effect this year. As part of the consultation process concerning the FIFA regulation governing the role of football agents, the world football body has called a two-day meeting with associations of agents from all over the world. The proposals include the creation of a Chamber of agents which will decide certain disputes, the issue of the agent’s license only to natural persons, the payment of agents’ commissions through the Fifa Clearing House, the application of sanctions to clients who work with agents without license and the creation of a football agents working group made up of representatives of stakeholders and football agents prof. recognized by FIFA. Furthermore, the associations of North and South American, African, Asian and European agents represented at this meeting recognized the need to raise the ethical and professional standards of their activity, noting that various proposals made by them were accepted in the third draft of the Fifa Regulations for players’ agents.

In the meeting, the associations of agents from all over the world stressed the need for FIFA to launch programs to foster the holistic development of its members.
