(ANSA) – ROME, 07 FEB – An exceptional edition of the World Long Course Swimming Championships will be organized in 2022, from 18 June to 3 July in Budapest. This was announced today by the International Swimming Federation (Fina). Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and FINA President Husain Al-Musallam announced today the agreement to hold the World Cup in Budapest from 18 June to 3 July 2022.

“As an aquatic community, we are finding solutions to the pandemic and today’s announcement is an important step in that process,” said FINA President Husain Al-Musallam. “We know we need to be imaginative in our approach to navigating through the current health crisis for our athletes. Today’s agreement is a testament to this work.” (HANDLE).
