(ANSA) – MILAN, 22 FEB – Apple could anticipate the launch of its Glass, the connected eyewear that has been talked about for some time.

According to recent rumors from the United States, the American giant would have completed the test phase of devices capable of reproducing content in virtual and augmented reality. Now is the time to start mass production together with the suppliers chosen for large-scale production. Previously, the analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, an expert on Apple facts, had mentioned problems in the prototypes built so far, such as to have to delay the design and the launch phase. According to the DigiTimes website, Apple and its partners have taken the goggles out of the so-called “second stage engineering validation” (EVT 2), which ensures that the units meet their intended functionality and safety goals. DigiTimes added that the glasses should debut by the end of 2022. The window chosen for the presentation could be autumn, coinciding with the presentation event of the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8. Then a few months would pass before a availability in stores, also as a result of how the current shortage of chips will proceed, which analysts at Boston Consulting Group say could last for another two years. Returning to the Glass, the specs hypothesized so far focus on a lightweight design, two 4K micro-LED displays, 15 optical modules, two processors, 6E Wi-Fi connection, eye tracking, object detection and an augmented reality mode.

No indication on the price but the well-informed place the accessories around the 3,000 dollar figure. (HANDLE).
