The researchers of the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (Mstic) found this and identified the virus on the attacked systems, then inserting it into the database of the security platform in order to recognize it and block it.

According to the researchers, these cyber attacks are still ongoing and are currently targeted “with high precision” only at the Ukrainian government infrastructure. FoxBlade, specifically, launches Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks that disable sites, but could also download and install other malicious viruses that make attacks persistent on systems.
