Previously, sanctions contributed to the slowdown of the Internet in Russia, and now it will also become unsafe.

Companies such as GeoTrust, Sectigo, DigiCert, Thawte, Rapid no longer cooperate with the Russian Federation. The absence of certificates actually means the death of the https protocol in the Russian Federation.

“Having certificates means that resources are securely protected and you can transfer your personal data. For example, provide card details so that they are entered automatically when you want to purchase something.

Companies will no longer issue certificates for Russian and Belarusian sites and will no longer update existing ones. Therefore, they will automatically become dangerous for all users, and browsers around the world will block them,” Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov explained the consequences of the sanctions in Telegram.
