(ANSA) – MILAN, MARCH 17 – Google I / O 2022, the annual conference of the American giant dedicated to developers, will be held on 11 and 12 May. The appointment represents an important opportunity to learn about the news on the group’s products and services. After two years of the pandemic, the events will still be held in streaming but with live sessions, including the opening speech by CEO Sundar Pichai, in the company’s amphitheater, with a small presence of Google employees and partners. “This year’s event will be broadcast in front of a limited live audience and is completely free and open to virtually everyone,” Google spokesperson Alex Garcia-Kummert told The Verge. Google I / O was canceled in 2020 for Covid-19 and returned as an online event in 2021. The company announced various new features during the last edition, including the debut of Android 12’s “Material You” design, revealing updates to Google Workspace and the merger of the two smartwatch operating systems, Wear OS and Samsung’s Tizen. According to some rumors, the company could unveil in May both its first connected watch, known as the Pixel Watch, and the Pixel 6a, the economic version of the Pixel 6 smartphone series. Google I / O 2022 registrations will start in the next few days but not there will be virtual tickets: anyone who wants to follow the event in streaming will be able to do so freely, through the accesses they will receive via email.
