(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 12 – A double thumbs up for content. It is the novelty designed by Netflix to allow subscribers to provide further feedback to the service and to further customize the recommendations. “We understand from users that it’s important for them to differentiate between the shows they liked and the ones they really loved,” explains Christine Doig-Cardet, director of product innovation at Netflix. As reported by the specialized website Techcrunch, the company first tried a series of views, including the heart used for liking on many social media, but the tests showed that users responded better to the ‘Two Thumbs Up’ option, i.e. two thumbs up, a more natural extension of the Netflix rating system.
Netflix, according to Techcrunch, would also be evaluating a way to make the most of the popularity of certain shows or TV series, for example by letting you discover content to watch based on a cast or other factors. “People love to advise each other. There are a lot of fan groups,” notes Doig-Cardet.
The new Two-inch rating option is available to subscribers all over the world, distributed on TV, web and Android and iOS mobile devices.
