In connection with the military aggression against Ukraine, Google has removed the restriction on showing Russian military facilities on its maps.

Now all the secret locations of Russia can be viewed in the maximum allowable resolution. Prior to this, satellite photos of such regions were provided in poor quality, so that it was difficult to see the details, defense-ua.com writes.

Thanks to this, it has already been possible to consider a number of objects

  • The only Russian aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, which is under repair

  • Nuclear weapons storage base near Murmansk

  • The Nenoksa test site, where the Burevestnik secret missile with a nuclear power plant exploded

  • The location of the latest Russian Su-57 fighter at the flight test center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation

  • Launch position of an intercontinental ballistic missile

  • Submarine base in Kamchatka

  • Military base of mobile ICBM complexes “Topol”

  • Air base near Kursk

  • Base “Iskander”

  • Heavy nuclear missile cruiser of the Russian Navy “Peter the Great”

  • 1295th Central Base for Storage of Armored Vehicles of the Russian Army

  • Command post, most likely, of the missile army of the strategic forces of the Russian Federation

Earlier we wrote that a US intelligence company will launch new satellites to track Ukraine. With the help of satellite images, they track the movement of the Russian army and assess the damage from the war.
