(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 26 – Meta-Facebook, an entirely online company, is about to open its first physical store. It will debut on May 9 and will be on the Burlingame campus in California, near the headquarters of the Reality Labs division crucial to the development of the metaverse. The store will focus on the devices that the company led by Zuckerberg is developing such as the Portal smart speakers, the smart glasses produced in collaboration with Ray Ban and the Meta Quest 2 viewers, gateway to virtual reality.
In a post, Zuckerberg explained that the new store will help users understand what’s new, while the company works on the metaverse. The store will not be huge, around 140 square meters, but it will have a huge display attached to the wall that will transmit the contents coming from the visitors’ viewers.
Last fall, the New York Times anticipated that the company was considering opening brick-and-mortar stores around the world. (HANDLE).
