(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 09 – Starting this week on Instagram, only in the United States, the Nft, digital certificates attesting the ownership of a work, land. A small group of creators and collectors will be able to share what they have created or bought. The news was announced directly by Mark Zuckerberg in a post, explaining that in the future the same operation will land on Facebook and on Instagram’s augmented reality stories. “We want – he said – that the advantages of this technology are available to even more creators and collectors”.
In practice, US users will be able to post the NFTs they have created, by connecting third-party digital wallets in-app. These digital objects will be displayed in a special, more vividly colored mode, and the content will be attributed to both the author and the owner. As of launch, supported blockchains include Ethereum and Polygon. To follow, Flow and Solana will also arrive; while compatible third party wallets for use will be Rainbow, MetaMask and Trust Wallet. Coinbase, Dapper and Phantom will arrive later.
There will be no costs associated with posting or sharing an NFT on Instagram.
“I think that in many experiences, especially social ones where people want to express something, we will see these modes land – explained Zuckerberg in the podcast” Impact Theory “- And if we make them interoperable then they will be chosen by many developers. This is one of the reasons. so we are starting to create Nft not only in our work, in the metaverse and in the Reality Labs, but also in our family of apps “.
