Waze: the function that will avoid traffic jams

Waze is arguably one of the best alternatives to Google Maps. The tool is indeed relevant, fun, and it also includes many functions to facilitate our movements. One of them should be of interest to those who very often take crowded routes.

It will indeed allow them to avoid traffic jams and save a little more time on their journeys.

And as much to say that it will be very useful to people living in the suburbs of Paris, or other big cities like Lyon, Marseille or Bordeaux.

Waze allows you to view recommended routes

While all roads generally lead to Rome, they are not all created equal. Some roads are indeed more traveled than others. This can lead to an increased risk of traffic jams.

These traffic jams are not only painful, they can also weigh heavily on our schedule. The best example of course remains that of the Paris region. It is indeed not because you live 20 minutes from Paris that you will necessarily take 20 minutes to get to the capital. In reality, the journey time can be doubled or even tripled depending on the traffic.

Waze, on the other hand, will usually offer you the best route when calculating your routes. However, sometimes it may be interesting to display possible related routes to bypass certain hot spots.

To do it, it’s not complicated, just follow these steps:

  1. Launch Waze;
  2. Enter your destination;
  3. Validate the route calculation;
  4. Then tap on the arrow facing down;
  5. Then tap on the “routes” button;
  6. Waze displays the possible routes;

Distance / duration, the ratio that doesn’t lie

Here you have two choices: display the routes as a list, one after the other, or study them by tapping on the map. You just have to click on one or the other of these tabs to change the view.

The map view is undoubtedly the most interesting. It will indeed allow you to view the different routes suggested by Waze.

Better yet, these are represented by a color. And above the map, you will find tabs showing these colors and displaying valuable information on the route. Like the distance to be covered or the duration of the journey.

And of course, if the journey time is long while the distance is short, it is because you can expect to find yourself in traffic jams.

Without being perfect either, this feature should give you a little more flexibility in planning your trips.
