(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MAY 13 – Google anticipates a prototype of smart glasses that translate languages in real time. Presented by the CEO of Big G, Sundar Pichai, showing a video during the summit of the Google I / O developers: wearing glasses that use augmented reality you could understand what another person is saying simply by reading the subtitles that are presented through the lenses as she speaks. It is not yet clear, however, whether the product will ever hit the market.
The company however first ventured on the road to smart glasses a decade ago, but Google Glasses weren’t appealing to most consumers due to the limited launch, high initial pricing, and privacy concerns. Google, however, appears to want to continue in that direction and in 2020 acquired North, an Amazon-backed company that manufactured smart glasses. (HANDLE).
