Virgin Galactic of billionaire Richard Branson regained the right to fly into space

US billionaire Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic has again been granted launch clearance after completing an investigation into their previous flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States completed a six-week investigation into the test flight of Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity suborbital spacecraft on July 11.

It was the company’s fourth space flight and the first ever fully crewed voyage, including by the company’s founder, billionaire Richard Branson.

Investigation revealed that Unity did indeed deviate from designated airspace during the descent, but the company was unable to properly report the deviation.

The FAA has required Virgin Galactic to make changes to how it communicates with the FAA in flight.

Virgin Galactic will also update its calculations for the expansion of protected airspace on future flights, space.com writes.

Unity will not launch its next test flight until mid-October. It is expected that the Italian Air Force will be sent into suborbital space.

However, Virgin Galactic is already selling tickets for the six-seat VSS Unity $ 450,000 each.

The company’s main competitor in the suborbital space tourism industry, Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin, has not disclosed ticket prices.
