(ANSA) – MILAN, MAY 25 – After the rumors of the last few days in the Wall Street Journal, there are new rumors about Apple’s gradual separation from Chinese production plants. The next headphones of the American giant, the AirPods Pro 2, could in fact be produced at least in part also in Vietnam, although a piece of the supply chain will still remain in China. This was stated by the expert analyst of the Apple world, Ming-Chi Kuo, commenting on the WSJ report and adding that the accessories will not be made entirely in Vietnam due to the impossibility of Cupertino to become 100% independent from Chinese industries within short while.

However, Apple’s idea remains to free itself from the Beijing market, given that many of its partners, such as Luxshare and Goertek, have already moved their operations to Vietnam, preferring it to the company’s second choice, India.

The WSJ explained that there are at least two reasons that pushed the American giant to distance itself from China.

The first is political: in the midst of growing tensions between Washington and Beijing, Apple does not want to face trade conflicts that would slow production. Then a logistical question: the pandemic and the related lockdowns have raised the need, for the big tech companies, to diversify the supply chain, so as not to focus on individual countries but to have more international support systems, in case of new localized closures.
