Tomorrow you might have sex with a robot

Cinema has always (or almost) explored the relationship between humans and robots. Robots which are obviously an integral part of science fiction films, but which, in recent years, have also been part of our very real daily life. The oldest undoubtedly remember Metropolis by Fritz Lang, but we also remember Blade Runner, Robocop and Terminator of course, but more recently also Ex Machina or even Her, in which we evoke a romantic relationship. between a man and a robot.

Make love… with a robot?

In view of the increasingly astonishing relationships that humans have with robots today, American society Tidio wanted to carry out a survey concerning the relationships between men / women and robots. An investigation that focuses in part on the artificial intelligence of our dear robots, which will eventually be able to steal our jobs, but also on the friendly and romantic relationships that could one day link humans and robots.

At the question : “would you be ready to have sex with a robot?“, 42% of respondents (1,200 people) answered…“Yes“. In detail, a little less than 50% of men would be ready to take action with a robot, against “only”33% of women. But there is no question of living a one-night stand with a robot, since 43% of those questioned would be ready to live a serious and lasting relationship with a robot endowed (among other things) with an artificial intelligence worthy of the name.

In another register, half of those questioned would see no problem with a robot taking charge of giving lessons to their children at school, or even having a robot operated on.

For a few years now, robots have been part of our daily lives, and it is impossible to remain unmoved by the evolutions of Boston Dynamics machines, for example, and their ability to play yamasis. On the side of Amazon, we have just developed a small robot dog, but we have been thinking for a long time to use robots to facilitate and simplify the delivery of packages.
