Startup Energy Dome plans “catch” carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in a special huge battery. Such technology will also be used to save energy resources, as it is 50% cheaper than lithium-based batteries.

We also wrote why the new R1 lunar rover looks like a mythical animal. Many countries are making efforts to limit their carbon footprint, but there is also a need to capture the carbon dioxide that is now released and damaging the environment. After all CO2 plays a key role in warming the planetleading to global warming.

Developers plan store gas in the form of condensate, it can be stored in a liquid state and at room temperature. Also, this technology is environmentally friendly, it works only on water and steel. While other such technologies use cobalt and lithium.

To “turn” CO2 into electricity, liquid carbon dioxide is converted into normal gas by heating, and then it is fed through a special turbine to the power generation unit. The whole process is a closed system in which carbon dioxide is not released into the atmosphere. The company plans to launch the battery by 2023.
