(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, 17 JUN – With the ‘ER2Digit’ project, born in the Data Valley, the Emilia-Romagna Region has participated in and won the call from the European Commission, as part of the Digital Europe Program, for the creation and development of the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs. The project was presented by Art-ER and involves the other partners of the regional digital innovation hub, Lepida and Cineca. It is one of the 13 Italian projects that passed the Commission’s scrutiny, among the 41 that had responded to the selection procedure launched in August 2020 at a national level. A success with which Emilia-Romagna has been awarded 4.5 million in European funding.

The winning projects will constitute the network of European digital innovation poles to be entrusted with the task of ensuring the digital transition of companies, in particular small and medium-sized companies and the public sector, through the adoption of advanced digital technologies, artificial intelligence. , high performance computing and cyber security. To carry out its activities, the hub will also make use of the research and experimentation skills and capabilities of the 90 accredited industrial laboratories and innovation centers of the ‘High Technology Network’, which boasts an annual turnover of 26 million euros in research contracts. and € 30 million of publicly funded R&D projects.
