    The site “Today” found out what kind of weapon it was.

    Polish howitzer for Ukraine

    According to the Commander-in-Chief, the AHS Krab ACS is a modern self-propelled howitzer. The maximum rate of fire of the gun is 6 shots per minute. Shooting with a series of projectiles is available.

    At the same time, the practical rate of fire in combat conditions, under which the crew can work effectively for a long time, is 2 shots per minute. Howitzers themselves are capable of hitting targets at a distance up to 40 km.

    Interestingly, the Polish 155 mm self-propelled howitzer is compatible with NATO ammunition. The howitzer has a Polish licensed turret from the British AS-90 self-propelled guns with a 155 mm barrel and a 52 caliber length. The installation chassis is from the K9 Thunder self-propelled guns manufactured by the South Korean company Samsung Techwin.

    Characteristics of ACS AHS Krab:

    • combat weight – 48 tons;
    • crew – 5 people;
    • power reserve – 400 km;
    • speed on the highway – 60 km / h;
    • travel speed on flat terrain – 30 km / h;
    • off-road speed – 15 km / h;
    • maximum rate of fire – up to 6 rounds per minute;
    • rate of fire in series – 3 shots in 10 seconds;
    • long-term shooting – 2 rounds per minute;
    • minimum firing range – 4.7 km;
    • effective firing range – up to 30 km;
    • maximum firing range – up to 40 km;
    • deployment in position – 30 seconds;
    • ammunition – 40 shells, of which 29 are stored in the ACS turret, 11 are stored in the ACS hull.

    Valery Zaluzhny also showed the work of the Polish self-propelled guns “Crab” on the video:

    Earlier, the Segodnya website wrote that the United States plans to announce the purchase for Ukraine of an advanced medium-range and long-range anti-missile and air defense system. We also wrote about the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, which are already hitting the invaders with all their might.
