The Armed Forces of Ukraine are effectively working on the positions of the Russian invaders, using, in particular, the equipment provided by our Western allies. Among other things, the Ukrainian military is firing at the enemy from the RM-70 Vampire, already having “eleven” installations.
This was announced in Telegram by StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Czech “Vampire”
RM-70 Vampire is a modernized version of the Czechoslovak RM-70 MLRS (manufactured in 1971-1989, in service since 1972) on the Tatra T-815-7 chassis with a Tatra T3C V8 engine, 270 hp ., which provides a power reserve of up to 1 thousand km and a maximum speed of 90 km / h.
“Vampire” is capable of firing 40 122 mm high-explosive fragmentation shells at a distance of up to 20 kilometers in just 20 seconds. A feature of the modernized MLRS is an automatic charging system that allows you to fully recharge the installation for 2 minutes.
The StratCom Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that great attention was paid to safety during the development: the launcher is equipped with a radio station, fire extinguishing equipment, etc. A bulldozer blade is mounted in front of the chassis, with which a firing position can be equipped or obstacles can be removed from the road. There is also a winch for self-retracting the launcher.
At the same time, the “Vampire” has no analogues in terms of mobility among the MLRS – it overcomes slopes with a steepness of up to 30 °, vertical walls 0.6 m high and ditches 1.5 m wide, and without prior preparation it forces fords up to 1.4 m deep.
Interestingly, the “Vampire” has tremendous speed and power reserve. This allows you to quickly destroy the enemy and change the location.

The system consists of a self-propelled launcher, missiles, a fire control system, and a transport and charging vehicle. Ahead is the cockpit, and in the stern is a launcher with an artillery unit.
At the same time, firing is carried out by unguided rockets with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead M-21OF. You can shoot both single shots and a volley.
How auxiliary armament a 7.62-mm machine gun can be mounted on the cabin roof, which can be fired at both ground and air targets. The crew itself consists of 4 people.
