Spotify, more control over streaming for Premium subscribers

China:

(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 03 – Spotify Premium customers will soon have more control over how they listen to their favorite songs on the platform. The streaming service is implementing two new buttons, one for playback and one for causal play, visible only to Spotify Premium subscribers. To date, the two features are combined in a single button. The company announced this in a blog post that reads: “Music, and how you listen to it, should be in your control. So, from the moment you hit Play on Spotify, you decide which way. you want to listen to your favorite playlists or that new album you’re obsessed with. ” At the moment, Spotify customers only have a combined play and shuffle play button that appears at the top of their playlists. Tracks from the album can still be heard in the correct order, after Adele complained last year about the lack of such a feature. “We don’t create albums with so much care and we didn’t think about our tracklist for no reason – commented the singer on Twitter – our art tells a story and our stories should be heard as we wanted”. Soon, Spotify Premium customers will see separate buttons for play and so-called “shuffle” throughout the app, for both albums and playlists. The change will come to the iOS and Android apps “in the coming weeks”. Spotify users without a paid plan will have to keep playing songs randomly, with the usual ads in between. (HANDLE).
