(ANSA) – MILAN, AUGUST 25 – New step of Meta-Facebook in the metaverse. After the announcement in July, the company confirmed the possibility, to date only for American users, to register on the Quest virtual reality platform with a new account, different from the Facebook one. The news is accompanied by the launch, on the Meta Quest YouTube channel, of a video showing how to register a new Meta profile, which from next January will be mandatory to access the worlds of Horizon, the name of the current platform that allows access to the metaverse for US and Canadian users. Global availability will gradually expand, but the company took the opportunity to explain how the new authentication process works, which will also be active via smartphone and computer, once the metaverse is also launched on other platforms besides that of virtual reality Quest. After creating a Meta account you will need to set up a Meta Horizon profile with a username, a name that will appear to other users of the metaverse and the ability to add a personal image as well. You can open the profile to everyone, to friends or keep it private, with this option which is the default for users aged 13 to 17, so as to have greater privacy control. From January 1, 2023, current Oculus accounts will no longer be accepted on Horizon and will be completely replaced by Meta profiles. (HANDLE).
