(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 26 – Amazon closes the Amazon Care telemedicine service, putting an end to the ambitious project that aimed to revolutionize the American healthcare industry. “It was not a decision made lightly and came after months of careful consideration,” said Neil Lindsay, the head of Amazon Health Service, in an employee communication reported by the Financial Times.
“While many aspects of Amazon Care appealed to us, the offering was not broad enough for the large customers who were in our target group,” points out Lindsay. Analysts believe the closure of Amazon Care is not a sign that Amazon intends to let go of the US $ 4 trillion healthcare sector. (HANDLE).
