Tim Cook Teases Augmented Reality, But He’s Unconvinced by the Metaverse

Tim Cook also took advantage of his time at the University of Naples – Federico II to once again teaser augmented reality. Although the Cupertino company has not yet mentioned its plans in this area, we know that it is working on a helmet that will combine augmented reality and virtual reality.

According to rumors, this product should arrive next year. And in the meantime, Tim Cook does not miss an opportunity to praise the possibilities offered by augmented reality.

At the University of Naples, Cook once again underlined his enthusiasm for this technology. According to him, once this one arrives, we will wonder how we did before. “Just like today we wonder how people like me grew up without the internet”, he explained.

However, while one of its future competitors, Meta, is fully on the metaverse, the boss of Apple is not convinced by this notion.

I always think it’s important for people to understand what something is“, said Friday the CEO of Apple in an interview with a Dutch publication. “And I’m really not sure the average person can tell you what metaverse is.

An opinion that the CEO of Apple shares with Eric Schmidt, the former boss of Google. In June, he said that at the moment there is no agreement on what this metaverse is.
