A press release revealed that TRUTH Social will be created by a new company born from the merger of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and a Special Acquisition Company (SPAC). The beta version of the social network would be released next November while a full deployment is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

Donald Trump said in the same press release that:

Donald Trump intends to overshadow Big Tech

The deal will list TMTG on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange through a merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp, a blank check acquisition company run by former investment banker Patrick Orlando.

In addition, TMTG will also receive $ 293 million in cash that Digital World Acquisition Corps had in trust if no shareholder of the acquisition company decides to repurchase their shares. In any case, TMTG’s ambitions do not end there. In addition to TRUTH Social, this group is also planning to launch a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG + which will offer entertainment, news and podcasts.
