Are the latest Apple products suffering from shortages?

For several months now, we have had the impression that there are shortages everywhere. And unfortunately, this phenomenon has not spared the smartphone market. In addition, Apple, which until now has managed to manage this situation, could well frustrate its customers.

This last quarter, Apple has been full of novelty. In September, the company introduced the iPhone 13 series, two new iPads, as well as the new Apple Watch. And recently, the company introduced its new MacBook Pros.

Unfortunately, according to an article published by Bloomberg, those who intend to buy these products will have to wait. Indeed, the deadlines are getting longer.

According to journalist Mark Gurman, orders for the most recent products will not be fulfilled until November or even December. And very long delays would also be noted for older products, such as the MacBook Air or the iMac launched by Apple in the first half of the year. The article indicates that this year, the delays are “more widely distributed”.

This could frustrate customers and undermine sales for Apple when it would expect a record quarter.

IPhone 13: Apple has already lowered production because of the shortage of chips

Before the release of the iPhone 13, Apple had already warned that its production could be more affected by the global shortage of chips during the second half of 2021. “The majority of the constraints that we see are of the variety that I think others are seeing, which I would characterize as a shortage of the sector”, Apple CEO Tim Cook said.

And recently, a rumor has circulated that Apple has already slowed the pace of production because of this situation. Originally, the company reportedly planned to produce 90 million iPhones by the end of the year. But because of the shortage of components, the company would produce only 80 million, a decrease of 10%.
