According to the most recent rumors, Samsung’s next top-of-the-range tablet, the Galaxy Tab S8, will have a front notch. The notch, made famous by the iPhones, made a comeback last week when Apple unveiled the new MacBook models that house it. Like Apple’s computers, Samsung’s tablets will take advantage of the touch-free space to house the camera for selfies and, probably, a face recognition system, absent on MacBooks.

The source, known on Twitter as OnLeaks, provided more information about the device, talking about an 8 megapixel sensor, 14.6-inch Amoled display with 120 Hz refresh rate, two 13 and 5 megapixel rear cameras and the presence of the S Pen, with magnetic strip for rear attachment. Powering the entire package is expected to be a 12,000mAh battery with 45W charging support, but it’s unclear whether Samsung will offer the adapter in the box or exclude it, as it has already done for the latest smartphone models.

OnLeaks is betting on an Exynos 2200 processor or a Snapdragon 888, 8 or 12GB of RAM, 128, 256 or 512GB of storage and four AKG-branded speakers. There will be the version with only Wi-Fi connectivity and the one with the slot for mobile cards, probably also with 5G plans. At the moment it is not known the launch window of the Galaxy Tab S8 but it should not be very far, considering that the previous family of Tab S7 and S7 + was presented in August 2020, followed by the Galaxy Tab S7 FE and Galaxy Tab A7 May 2021 litigation.
