I robot imitano i Rolling Stones nel video Start me up VIDEO

Robots not only increasingly agile, but precise in their movements and timing. This is demonstrated by the latest video from Boston Dynamics that celebrates 40 years since the release of the song “Start Me Up” by the Rolling Stones. In the clip, the group members and singer Mick Jagger performed on stage and the robotics company team mimicked the performance with their quadruped Spot robots.

The original video was then edited alongside the robotic exhibition, perfectly synchronized even in the ‘lip’. The robots recreate both the movements of Jagger as he sings and of Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood as they play their instruments. The only absent is Charlie Watts’ mime, perhaps a tribute to the drummer who passed away earlier this year.

Boston Dynamics, which was recently acquired by Korean carmaker Hyundai, has already shot several funny videos of its robots, to promote its products and to highlight new benchmarks in the design and performance of its automata.

The first videos showed one or more of their four-legged creations walking in natural terrain. The most recent videos showed improvements in agility as robots do flips and bounce on nearby objects. The tactic appears to be working: Boston Dynamics has sold over 400 robots to various companies, including the New York Police Department.
