More and more specific crop lands are needed to help agricultural production. The three of us, Eva, Angelo and Gabriele, wanted to create an innovative culture medium, which was specific for fungi so that it could be specifically intended for wide use. The cultivation soil, which has obtained full compliance with objective 12 of the UN 2023 Agenda, uses environmentally friendly production methods by exploiting food waste deriving from the production of citrus fruits as raw material.
The medium proves to be particularly advantageous both for the fast growth and development time of the colonies of inoculated microorganisms and for its reduced production costs. Soil is more efficient than legacy products of a similar type, plus it’s significantly cheaper soil.
The preparation of microbiological culture media consists in mixing nutrients, substances with a buffer function or maintenance of the osmotic balance, as well as selective inhibitors or indicators, to obtain an agar or broth that supports the growth and differentiation of microorganisms. Microbiological culture media are classified according to several parameters, such as chemical constituents, physical nature and function.
