We had almost forgotten: formalized without much fanfare by Square Enix last February via Twitter, the smartphone game Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is equipped with an opening while in synthetic images and a release date. Scheduled for iOS and Android devices via Google Play, this battle royale takes place in the world of Final Fantasy VII, the cult PlayStation episode of the franchise, for a rather disconcerting mix of genres.
In war as in war
Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will thus offer jousting for 75 players (solo or in a squad of three) simultaneously on the game map. Embodying soldiers of the elite SOLDIER army of the city of Shinra, the players will have at their disposal a vast panoply of offensive options to overcome opponents. Several styles of fighting will be offered: Warrior and their traditional weapons, Sorcerer with magical abilities and finally Ninja for fans of assassinations in all discretion.
Real mic-mac of lore Final Fantasy VII, this mobile version will include “a selection of iconic places”From the 1997 game in every area of the map, ranging from Corneo’s Mansion to Seventh Heaven, Tifa Lockheart’s bar.
Get involved in November
The short Japanese advertisement posted on YouTube by Square Enix also gives a glimpse of the gameplay of the game. Vehicles will thus be present within the game cards – with even the possibility of fighting while riding a motorcycle, for example. Friends of feathered beasts will be delighted to learn that the unmissable Chocobos are also part of the game’s mounts. Those who rather want to operate in a gang will be able to walk all along the map with armed vehicles with multiple places. Finally, several large creatures will dot the map to serve as opportunities to grind, ideal for increasing your character level.
The output of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is scheduled for November 17 on iOS devices via the App Store and on Android devices via Google Play.
