Scientists have discovered a secret bunker where they conducted experiments on people: what is known

The history of Unit 731 of the Imperial Japanese Army, which carried out super-cruel experiments on humans during World War II, is not as famous as the atrocities of the Nazis. But it’s no less impressive. In addition, scientists are still finding more and more evidence of the unit’s inhuman experiments.

According to the South China Morning Post, Chinese archaeologists recently discovered an underground bunker in which Unit 731 was probably working. We are talking about an object near the Chinese city of Anda.

According to the revealed data, scientists associated with the activities of the Detachment tested the action of pathogenic microorganisms on living prisoners, and also dissected them in order to visually see their effect. The results of this work were used by the Imperial Japanese Army to spread typhus, plague and cholera in China.

Historians’ data was published in May in the journal Northern Cultural Relics. They may shed new light on evidence of war crimes by the Japanese army during World War II. At the same time, scientists from the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology of Heilongjiang Province believe that the information obtained can strengthen global efforts to prevent biological warfare.

The structure discovered by scientists is underground. It consists of several interconnected tunnels and chambers. Work on its study began in 2019 and was carried out using geophysical methods, drilling and excavations. The researchers have not yet visited the premises themselves. While they continue to study the structure of the structure.

Thus, the existence of a U-shaped cluster of bunkers has already been established, as well as a circular room, which, according to archaeologists, was used to monitor infected people exposed to pathogens and chemicals. And also for their subsequent opening. Also on site may be underground barracks, canteens, baths and other facilities for the fighters of Detachment 731.

Scientists point out that while their data are preliminary. The construction and its purpose need further study. In particular, it should be established how the rooms are connected to each other.

Most of the above ground buildings at the site now being explored were destroyed in 1945. So the Japanese tried to hide the traces of their criminal experiments.

As you know, some of the researchers who worked for Detachment 731 were arrested by the Soviet military. In December 1949 they were tried in Khabarovsk for war crimes. Meanwhile, some scientists who fell into the hands of the US Army received immunity in exchange for the results of their research.
