(ANSA) – MILAN, 08 NOV – Qualcomm, one of the leading manufacturers of processors and chips for technological devices, could launch its new flagship model, the Snapdragon 898, at the Tech Summit 2021. The annual event will be held from 30 November to 2 December and is usually the stage from which the company presents the innovations that will be adopted by its partners the following year. According to a report from Android Central, the first phone to use the processor will be the Xiaomi 12, which will be launched later this year. The Snapdragon 898 is expected on other reference smartphones, such as the Galaxy S22 series, whose presentation should take place in early February, and Motorola’s top-of-the-range at Realme.
A separate report by Gsm Arena claims to have analyzed the technical specifications of the 898, thanks to the sharing of information on an alleged smartphone with the Qualcomm SM8450 chipset on board, known just as Snapdragon 898. An AMR Cortex-X2 CPU core is therefore expected. running at 3.0 GHz, three cores based on Cortex-A710 clocked at 2.5 GHz and finally four high-efficiency cores, Cortex-A510 at 1.79 GHz. An Adreno 730 GPU should not be missing, which among the improvements architecture and Samsung’s new 4-nanometer manufacturing process, would deliver 20% higher performance than the previous generation. The X65 5G connectivity modem will not be missing, with a theoretical maximum speed of 10 Gbps. No official confirmation from Qualcomm, which limited itself to launching a banner on its website on the launch date of the Tech Summit.
