GTA can last as long as James Bond says Take-Two

For Strauss Zelnick, boss of Take-Two, the franchise GTA has the potential to last as long as another big, cinematic saga here: James Bond. The CEO, however, conditions the sustainability of his series on a quality that remains at a high level.

On closer inspection, what do GTA and James Bond have in common? Franchises adored by a large audience of which each episode arouses a strong expectation, before experiencing really naughty operating scores. On this point, however, GTA would position itself more at the level of Marvel blockbusters.

Why this parallel between GTA and James Bond? Because it was recently drawn up by Strauss Zelnick himself, CEO of Take-Two of which Rockstar Games is one of the subsidiaries.

Take-Two CEO believes GTA, but also Red Dead, will last a long time

While the Jefferies Virtual Global Interactive Entertainment Conference was being held, Strauss Zelnick was asked about the lifespan of his franchises. Is it limited depending on the case or is it possible to make these series continue indefinitely? For our man, the high quality of the product will inevitably lead to its success, and therefore the longevity of the series to which it belongs:

“If it’s really super awesome, then it will continue. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, I just saw the new Bond movie, it was awesome. And we would like every franchise to be James Bond. ”

Strauss Zelnick mentioned GTA as a possible video game mirror to James Bond, but not only:

“There are very few entertainment franchises of any kind that fall into this category, but they do exist. And I think GTA is one of them, I think Red Dead is one of them, NBA also obviously because the game [de basket-ball] will continue to exist. ”

It should be noted all the same that each new James Bond film does not seem to demonstrate an attention to detail similar to that observed for recent GTAs. And that unlike a certain number V, Spectre did not experience additional exits in the rooms to make people wait until To die can wait.
