(ANSA) – MILAN, NOV 29 – The metaverse now conquers everyone and now it’s Adidas’s turn. The well-known sportswear brand could have its little virtual world inside The Sandbox, one of the most famous platforms within which to create buildings and activities in virtual reality.

The announcement of the metaverse by Mark Zuckeberg sparked interest in the possibility of declining work, training and play activities in digitally recreated environments, to be visited with VR viewers, AR goggles but also computers and smartphones. Google and Microsoft have already confirmed their willingness to bring some of their apps to their respective ‘metaverse’. Adidas has decided to expand their store concept into the metaverse through a collaboration with four different companies: Bored Ape Yacht Club, Punks Comic and Gmoney. The respective Twitter accounts have posted, under a tweet from The Sandbox, the fruit of the partnership, which should allow users to purchase exclusive clothing, validated through NFT. The non-fungible tokens, linked to the single purchase, will allow to demonstrate the uniqueness of the ownership of the object. The virtual space of Adidas will enrich the universe of The Sandbox, which uses the blockchain to guarantee the ‘owners’ of the land in 3D the validity of their constructions, as well as content creators that of the works for sale. In early November, Nike filed four requests to the United States Patent Office on technologies to make hats, eyewear, bags, backpacks and sports equipment compliant for the virtual market.
