The 4 new Google Maps functions dedicated to Shopping

Google Maps users will have more fun using the app in the coming days. For the holiday season, Google is adding four features to this service in its next update.

Google Maps application

The objective according to the American firm is to simplify the movements of its users, even more in these more or less risky times.

The “Occupied zone” feature

With “Zone occupied”, customers can know the level of congestion in an area at any time of the day. All you have to do is open the Google Maps application and click on the location of an area to find out how busy there is. Thus, they will not only be able to avoid large crowds, but also get service in a relatively short time. Note that Google plans to make it operational on iOS and Android smartphones globally by the end of December.

The “Directory tab” functionality

Through the “directory tab”, Google users can find information about airports, transit stations and shopping centers. It shows you precisely the location of a store among many others on a building as well as its rating on the market. More so, the feature helps locate vehicle parking lots and airport lounges.

The “Detailed Restaurant Reviews” feature

Google Maps will also provide more information on local restaurants based on information from other customers. The latter, by wanting to leave a comment, can now enter the range of prices offered. They can also indicate whether the establishment has outdoor seating and whether it offers home delivery. The information collected in this way will be displayed in the restaurant’s main list when users consult Google Maps.

The “Grocery Pickup” feature

The other feature that Google plans to add to Maps is “grocery pickup”. It allows you to order groceries and have them delivered to your home. With this, a customer will be able to follow the status of his order and share his ETA with the store. This will allow the latter to know when the groceries will be delivered. As an incentive, the next update announced by Google, this feature will include more than 2000 stores, and this in more than 20 US states.
