Oppo strongly believes in it and launched its Air Glass during the Inno Day 2021 event. Arriving by the first quarter of 2022, for the moment only in China, they are the first of a new range of products already in the strategies of various giants, including Meta and Apple. The company that encompasses Facebook’s activities had already launched, this fall, the Rayban Stories, not very smart and more voted for fashion, the prelude according to analysts of the real Meta Glass, also useful for interacting with the metaverse platform on which Mark Zuckerberg wants to build the future of social communications. The Oppo Air Glass have a thin frame, on which it is possible to mount corrective lenses.

The multimedia contents are enjoyed through the connection of the smartphone, any Oppo model with the ColorOS 11 system, and projected by the “Spark” microprojector, developed by the company, on a micro LED and a special diffraction optical waveguide display. . If associated with an Oppo Watch 2, the watch of the group, the goggles can receive commands from hand gestures, to confirm or select menus. At launch, there will already be several compatible apps, including Weather, Calendar, Health, Teleprompter, Translation and Navigation.

The latter was developed in collaboration with Baidu to customize the Baidu Walk & Bike Navigation and Explore Nearby applications. Real-time translation will, at least initially, support bi-directional conversion between Mandarin and English, Mandarin and Japanese, Mandarin and Korean.
