Small updates but more frequent. WhatsApp, the most used messaging app in the world, which at the end of last year had 1 billion and 600 million active users, had anticipated the new “policy” in 2021. The company part of the Meta group in less than a month has already brought in its testing versions, for a small group of subscribers, some substantial innovations. The last, identified by WABetaInfo thanks to the screenshot of one of the testers, shows the possibility of listening to an audio message even outside the chat from which it came. This will be possible through a mini player with which to control the playback of the multimedia file, in any application window. In mid-December, the app was updated to allow you to listen to an audio message before sending it, while the new Community feature popped up a few days later, allowing admins to link up to ten groups into one, so that members can view messages, photos and videos without jumping from chat to chat.
The addition of the multimedia player, for listening to messages, concerns the version of Android 2.22.3.1 but WABetaInfo has already identified the same update on the iPhone. Until now, when playing a voice, users must remain in the chat window of the friend who sent it, otherwise the audio will stop. According to many, a limit is when the content is too long and you need to perform operations with other apps. No news on the other hand for another highly anticipated feature, which emerged in September, about the opportunity to automatically transcribe the voice notes.
