Folding phones, Google Pixel Fold pops up on Android 12L

(ANSA) – MILAN, 14 JAN – Android 12L is the update of the current Google operating system designed for devices with large, foldable screens and tablets. If you still do not know the release date of the update, the first information contained in a trial version shows the work that the US giant is doing in the creation of its first mobile phone with dual display. In the instructions for using Android 12L, in particular in the section that explains how to insert the sim card, a phone with a flexible display, branded Google, appears. According to the 9to5google site, which found the animations, it is the Google Pixel Fold, which the company part of the Alphabet group should unveil within the year. The information in which the terminal appears is verifiable by anyone who is part of Google’s testing program for new versions of Android.

The update in question is present in the second beta build of Android 12L, released in the past few hours. The 9to5google portal analyzed the images to derive the likely dimensions of the smartphone. This would have a 7.6-inch internal panel, equal to that of the Galaxy Fold Z3 and larger than Oppo’s Find N, the only foldable phone that comes close to Samsung’s design. Regarding the development of Android 12L, despite the proximity of the release of Android 12, Google confirmed the good market trend of devices with wider screens than a classic phone, between foldables and tablets: “We have noticed an increase in foldable devices, with a year-on-year growth of over 265%. There are currently over 250 million active Android devices with wide screens. ” (HANDLE).
