(ANSA) – TEL AVIV, 14 JAN – It looks like a steak of salmon but it is totally vegetable and its configuration is given by a 3D printer. This is what the Israeli start-up Plantish is working on – first in the world after other companies that have dedicated themselves to ‘non-meat’ meat, which in a short time expects to switch to other types of fish (including mussels and shellfish) but all strictly vegan.
The purpose of the new start-up – reported the media – is to “save the delicate vital tissue of the ocean by using plant-based materials to develop a substitute with the same appearance, texture, taste and nutritional values of real fish products”. “Fish is the most hunted animal in the world. If we do not do something – Ron, founder of ‘Plantish’ and convinced vegan, told Ynet Ofek – in a few decades there will probably be no more fish in the sea”. (HANDLE).
